2nd annual “Run for the Colors” motorcycle ride
Mark your calendars! The 2nd annual “Run for the Colors” motorcycle ride will take place on Saturday, September 18. The run will start in Honeoye, NY, and take riders through the beautiful Finger Lakes region. The ride will end at Sandy Bottom Park, on the shore of Honeoye Lake, with food, drink and live music by the Boogiemen will be provided at the park.

3rd annual Pat Chatt Memorial Ride to Remember
The 3rd annual Pat Chatt Memorial Ride to Remember was held in Sonyea, NY, on Saturday, June 5, 2010. The ride was sponsored by the Livingston Groveland QWL, with all proceeds going to OASIS Adaptive Sports, Inc.. A pork BBQ followed the ride, including a raffle and live music by “7 Days”. Other correctional officers’ facilities in Western NY, not able to participate in this event, donated funds to make this a significant fundraiser for OASIS. We thank you all!!!”

Fundraiser at The Distillery Victor, NY location
A new The Distillery location has been added to the Rochester area, in Victor across from the Eastview Mall. As part of the Grand Opening celebration, and to help “tune up” the staff, a Charity Night event was held on April 14. For a ticket price of $25, guests enjoyed multiple, delicious appetizers being continuously served by the friendly staff, as well as 2 complimentary drinks. The evening’s proceeds were split between OASIS Adaptive Sports, Inc. and Veterans Outreach Center, Inc.. Thank you to Peter and his staff for a memorable evening and the donation to both organizations

A delightful evening was enjoyed by 80 OASIS friends and supporters at The Rabbit Room in Honeoye Falls, NY. Preceeding a delicious dinner, guests socialized over cocktails and appetizers and viewed an “OASIS History” photo show. Multiple items were raffled off during the evening; thank you(!) to all our sponsors for the donations. Many thanks to Mary Turner, and her “crew”, for organizing this memorable event.

Tribute to Michele Benefit

On Sunday, February 14, 2010, the 10th annual (and final) Tribute to Michele Benefit was held at Bristol Mountain Winter Resort. Eleven years ago, Michele, daughter of Carl and Teresa Sansocie, died tragically in an automobile accident. In her memory, her parents and friends have organized a benefit event at Bristol Mtn. every year since. The proceeds from each event have been donated to a charity or a non-profit organization. OASIS Adaptive Sports, Inc. was selected as this year’s beneficiary. The event included discounted evening ski passes at Bristol Mtn., live entertainment in the Satellite Lounge (“The Prickers” band), food , drink, a raffle for numerous prizes (many thanks to the donors!), and a 50/50 raffle. Thanks to all who donated their time to a successful event, and especially Carl & Teresa Sansocie, Jeana Sansocie, Liz Herman, Helen Hogan, Pat Gleisle, Nancy Rivera, Ariana Rivera (the event MC!), the band “The Prickers”, Lisa Woodward and Charlie & Jeanie Wolcott.

Kickoff Reception for OASIS Winter Program

The OASIS Adaptive Ski Program began on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Bristol Mountain Winter Resort. To commemorate this event, a “ribbon-cutting” reception was held at Bristol Mountain’s Sunset Lodge. Attendees included some of the veterans participating in this program, their families and friends, NY State and local dignitaries, the media, and OASIS instructors and staff. After brief introductory remarks, the guests went outside to observe an adaptive skiing demonstration.
